WEST TEXAS TRAVELER

In the interest of full disclosure let me state right from the beginning, I love Mexico. I have chosen to live here, in this wild, empty, beautiful place.

This is a country of ragged mountains, shimmering lakes, jungles and secluded beaches. Here, we measure time by the clanging of church bells, the months by fiestas and holy days and the seasons by the migration of pelicans and the return of the monarch butterflies.

Paradise lies on the southern border of Texas, and most of us don't even know it. This article, and the ones to follow, will introduce you to the Mexico that we should get to know better. - Bonnie Block
